Rebekah Brooks announces News UK return with PS58m purchase of Unruly

The east London company, which was founded in 2006 It is the first digital acquisition by Rebekah Brooks following the return of her as CEO at News UK.

The founding members Sarah Wood, Scott Button and Matt Cooke will remain at the company as co-chief officers as well as chief technology officers respectively. The company will function as a distinct business unit.

The company is specialized in the distribution and tracking video advertisements across social networks, and works with blue chip companies like T-Mobile as well as Renault. There are 15 offices across the world , and employs over 200 employees.

Brooks stated: “We look forward to working with one of Europe’s most highly-regarded tech teams to create new premium video inventory for our News UK mastheads and other businesses.

News Corp chief executive Robert Thomson stated: “We have a track record of acquiring businesses with unique capabilities, allowing them the freedom to do what they do best.

When discussing the deal Sarah Wood said: “I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and purpose of the entire senior staff in News Corp. It was an important aspect of the deal.
