Over 87,000 apply for PM-UDAY scheme in Delhi

DELHI, New Officials said on Friday that more than 87,000 individuals had filed for the PM-UDAY initiative, which seeks to bestow or recognise ownership rights for inhabitants of unauthorized colonies in Delhi. They also noted that more than 4 million individuals had signed up for the site.

The Delhi Development Authority is carrying out the Pradhan Mantri – Unauthorized Colony in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) (DDA).

And of those 87,275 applications, the statement said that 30,717 had been resolved.

The PM-UDAY application site is used to carry out the complete plan. From Friday night till Monday night, the gateway will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.

The DDA said in a statement that the PM-UDAY online application portal, website, and mobile app will be unavailable from 8 p.m. on Friday (October 29) until 8pm on Monday (November 1) for maintenance.

DDA’s other online public services, including its website, conversion, and mutation, will also operate normally.

DELHI, New Minister of State for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishore said in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that 7,576 households have been given ownership rights to their properties in non-developed unauthorized colonies in the national capital under PM-UDAY.

Seven thousand five hundred and seventy-six conveyance documents and authorization papers were provided to inhabitants of illegal colonies in Delhi, the minister reported to the Upper House of Parliament.

The BJP-led Central government announced the PM-UDAY, or Pradhan Mantri Unauthorized Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana, plan in October 2019.

The National Capital Territory of Delhi (Recognition of Property Rights of Residents in Unauthorized Colonies) Act, 2019, was passed by the Central Government in December 2019 to provide property rights to those living in unrecognized colonies in Delhi.

In response to a long-standing need, the programme will provide property titles to the inhabitants of 1,731 legally recognised unlawful colonies spread out over the nation’s capital.
