Apple has released software updates that will allow iPhone users to recall and edit text messages after they are sent. There is also a plan for Apple Pay shoppers to use the “buy now, pay later” feature.
Yesterday, the tech giant showed off the iOS 16 software features at its worldwide developer conference. An official release is planned for the autumn.

The messages function update will allow users to modify messages once they are set. This beats Twitter. It also allows them to retrieve recently deleted messages and mark conversations “unread” so that they can return to them later.
Safety Check, a new privacy tool that the company will make available, can be used to quickly remove access granted to other users. It also includes an emergency reset which allows users to sign out of iCloud from all other devices, reset privacy permissions, and limit messaging to the device they are holding.
Apple Pay Later allows users in the US to split the purchase price of Apple Pay into four equal payments over six week, without interest or fees. Craig Federighi (Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering) stated that iOS 16 is a major release with new updates that will transform the experience iPhone.
It also revealed plans to integrate its software into cars with a new dashboard, which it claimed would display information such as speed and fuel consumption.
